Life Awakening: Feelings v. Emotions | May Mental Wellness Series
Join Graduate Studies & Research for the May Mental Wellness series as we host Rev. Dr. Cynthia Lindenmeyer, university Chaplain, as she presents “Life Awakening: Feelings v. Emotions”.

This presentation is intended for students.

Our life dream involves engaging the world from our highest, true nature and experience the magic of being alive. We awaken to this reality through friction, bumping up against tough experiences and relationships that provide the opportunity to get “unstuck.” But what often happens when encounter friction? We react, and our mind goes into story mode asking, “Why is this happening to me?” And then we get mired in emotions.

We have three reactions to a life event: mental, emotional, physical—sometimes all three combine and really send us spiraling. In this wellness presentation, we will talk about the energy fields in our body and interrupt the habit of mentally reacting, to physically reacting thereby exploring an evolutionary shortcut that bypasses the mental/emotional reaction and go directly to the source of the problem, our energy fields.
